North Metric's platform is a nine-layer pipeline from a read-only Stripe key to a daily revenue briefing. Each layer adds a specific capability — ingestion, computation, sharing, benchmarking, segmentation, scoring, and finally agent-driven action.
## What this page covers
The nine layers that make up North Metric's platform, in the order data flows from Stripe to your morning briefing.
## Layer 01 — Connect
Paste a read-only Stripe restricted key. North Metric backfills 24 months across 10 datasets — subscriptions, customers, invoices, charges, balance transactions, refunds, payment methods, plans, and lifecycle events — in about three minutes, then syncs daily. The key is read-only; the connection cannot modify, refund, charge, or subscribe customers.
## Layer 02 — Dashboard
30+ SaaS metrics computed nightly from your Stripe data: MRR, NRR, ARPA, Quick Ratio, churn rate, LTV, CAC payback, expansion rate, and more. Filter by time range, granularity, and customer slice. Pin, hide, reorder, and resize tiles into the layout you actually use.
## Layer 03 — Metric Detail
Every metric expands into a 24-month trend with its driver breakdown. For MRR, drivers are new business, expansion, reactivation, churn, and downgrades. Switch chart type (bar, line, area, stacked) and toggle comparison periods (MoM, QoQ, YoY).
## Layer 04 — Sharing
Stripe-verified metric cards with a cryptographic verification ID traceable to live data. Four audience modes: investor, monitor, internal, single-metric. Distribute via public link, password-protected link, PNG download, or email. Revoke anytime.
## Layer 05 — Benchmarks
1,400+ Stripe-verified SaaS peers, auto-matched to your MRR tier and business category. Every metric scored at P25/P50/P75 with the annual dollar opportunity calculated for each gap.
## Layer 06 — Segments
15 dimensions × 65 buckets. Every customer placed across plan type, lifecycle stage, tenure, revenue tier, payment health, billing interval, country, growth phase, and more. Drill into any bucket to see the customers behind the number.
## Layer 07 — Health Score
A 0–100 composite score weighted across growth, retention, efficiency, and unit economics, ranked against peers in your MRR tier. The weakest dimension routes to the agent that can fix it.
## Layer 08 — Agents
10 specialist agents across three revenue domains:
- Protect: Churn Radar, Whale Alert, Cohort Decay
- Recover: Payment Recovery, Cash Collector, Win-Back Engine
- Expand: Upgrade Finder, Growth Pulse, Trial Closer, Pricing Power
Each agent scans your Stripe data nightly and turns risks and opportunities into dollar-priced findings.
## Layer 09 — The North
The daily briefing. Every agent's findings prioritized by dollar impact and urgency, with customer names and recommended next moves. One screen to open every morning.
## How layers connect
Stripe data flows into Layer 01 (Connect), is computed by Layer 02 (Dashboard) and decomposed by Layer 03 (Metric Detail). Layers 04–07 add context: sharing, benchmarks, segments, and the health score. Layers 08–09 take action: agents detect opportunities and The North prioritizes them into a daily list.
